New Jewelry TOKYO 2024 15th Anniversary
From November 29 to December 1, 2024, we will host "New Jewelry TOKYO 2024," Japan's largest designer’s jewelry event, in Tokyo.

This event showcases and sells "New Jewelry"—jewelry with innovative approaches that offer a glimpse into the creativity and originality of designers. Since its inception in 2010, the event marks its 15th anniversary this year.

Over the years, the event has grown to attract more than 10,000 visitors over three days, becoming an essential platform to experience the current trends in the jewelry industry.

This year, the event will be held at SPIRAL, featuring a record-breaking 132 exhibitors, including designer’s jewelry brands and individual artists. In addition, select shops, galleries, bookstores, and food counters will be in the venue. Visitors can also enjoy a variety of workshops, allowing to experience the basic concept of "see, buy, create, and feel the jewelry,” which has been central to New Jewelry since its foundation.

New Jewelry TOKYO 2024 will present the "now" of designer’s jewelry, weaving together the future of this field from a multifaceted perspective. Be sure to visit the venue and witness the brilliance by yourself.

"Yayacoshiya" is a collaborative shop hosted by four shops: mitosaya, Mikotoya, Miyoshiya, and Bob Foundation (Mirohiya). Each shop brings its own expertise, combining unique materials and ideas to offer special products and experiences that are even more intricate, exclusively for New Jewelry TOKYO 2024.

A diverse group of talented and creative designers will gather this year.

TOMOKO FURUSAWA JEWELRY, which showcases the world of high-quality and luxurious natural stones, YUKA HOJO, known for its popular bridal jewelry with captivating stories, and simoe, a fashion jewelry brand leading the trends, KOHKOH, a contemporary jewelry brand that made a spectacular debut last year will all be featured. In total, 132 jewelry brands from various genres will participate.

Furthermore, several artists from the Japan Jewelry Designers Association, each with their own unique aesthetic and sense of style, will make their debut at New Jewelry TOKYO.

bororo × TAKUMA GEM CARVING | Gem Polishing Workshop

The highly popular "Gem Polishing Experience" workshop will once again be held at New Jewelry TOKYO this year!

This workshop allows participants to experience gemstone polishing, selecting raw stones and imagining their final forms, bringing the beauty of gemstones and traditional craftsmanship closer to everyone. It is a collaborative project that has been ongoing since 2011, led by bororo and traditional craftsman TAKUMA GEM CARVING.

bororo is a jewelry brand directed by Akiko Akachi, known as the 'Traveling Jeweler.' The brand expresses the natural beauty of gemstones as they are found in nature, with all gemstone processing handled by TAKUMA GEM CARVING, based in Kofu.

Workshop Details

This workshop offers two different sessions:

① "Necklace" Making
In this workshop, you will choose your favorite raw stone, polish it into your desired shape, and create a pendant. bororo’s designer will assist with stone selection, and a traditional craftsman who produces bororo jewelry will guide you through the polishing process. Once polished, your gemstone will be paired with a silk cord made from Kyoto silk. Enjoy creating a special necklace that highlights the unique inclusions and natural characteristics of the gemstone.

② "Incense Holder" Making
In this session, you will select a crystal of your choice, polish it into your preferred shape, and create an incense holder. While maintaining the natural shape of the crystal, you will polish it to craft an incense holder. This workshop offers the opportunity to experience the craftsmanship of Koshu’s gem-curving artisans, who transform crystals into artistic products. Additionally, you'll receive a custom-made brass tray, which can also be used as a jewelry tray.

Yayakoshiya is a tricky food section hosted by four shops—mitosaya, Mikotoya, Miyoshiya, and Bob Foundation (mirohiya)—whose names look almost identical when written in alphabet. Each shop will leverage its specialties, blending ingredients and ideas to offer unique, complicated products and experiences for New Jewelry TOKYO 2024.

mitosaya Distillery / CAN-PANY
mitosaya is a distillery located in Otaki, Isumi District, Chiba. Utilizing fruits, medicinal herbs, and rich ingredients from trusted partners across Japan, they create products through fermentation and distillation. This time, mitosaya will be joined by CAN-PANY, their bottling plant in Kiyosumi-Shirakawa.

Mikotoya / KIKI NATURAL ICECREAM
Mikotoya is a traveling greengrocer, delivering vegetables and stories from journeys to your table. At their base in Aoba, Yokohama, “MICOTOYA HOUSE,” you’ll find select vegetables, grown naturally and plastic-free, available by weight. They also offer vegetable-flavored ice cream and craft ice cream brand “KIKI NATURAL ICECREAM,” made from surplus ingredients.

Miyoshiya
Miyoshiya, a tacos and deli shop, opened in May 2023 in Nakanobu, Shinagawa, Tokyo. It’s a reimagined version of a soba shop once run by the owner’s parents, now run by their son, who is also an editor. Although the exterior looks like a soba shop, it’s actually a taco shop, and while the owner is involved in the food business, he is also an editor—making for a rather complicated setup. Their slogan is “WRAP ME TENDER.”

Bob Foundation(mirohiya)
DAILY BOB, runs a creative unit Bob Foundation, is a daily goods brand that started with gift wrapping. This time, they’ll let you choose wrapping materials and package your own gifts. Experience the joy of wrapping!
